War Horse Brewing
Intro
Along the shores of Seneca Lake lies the grounds of Three Brothers Wineries and Estates – a 30+ acre plot of Finger Lakes land that houses three wineries, a coffee roaster, a cidery, and a craft brewery named War Horse Brewing. While the War Horse brand was founded in 2008, they've recently taken all of their beer and cider production in-house, expanding their tasting room, adding a 15bbl system, and installing their own canning line.

50 Miles from Mexico (New York)
War Horse’s visual style has always been heavily inspired by the American cultural climate of the early 1940s: Roosevelt, inventions like Tupperware and the Jeep, and of course, World War II. While developing the brand for ’50 Miles from Mexico’, War Horse’s easy drinking Mexican-style lager, it was crucial to keep the same aesthetic of the 1940’s, but focus the look more towards life at home in America, instead of war imagery.
Working with War Horse’s owner-operators, we created the idea of a 1940’s pictorial map, with illustrations that represented regional specialties throughout Upstate New York. Keeping with the namesake, the road trip map marks out the 50-mile route from Mexico, New York, to War Horse’s tasting room, right outside of good ol’ Geneva.
